About the Role

GDP's Height Access Division is experiencing strong growth and requires an Estimator in Melbourne.

This role works as a member of the design and estimation team providing technical drawings and design plans for roof safety systems.

The successful candidate will be able to read and interpret roof plans and building elevations to design a compliant fall protection system to suit client needs. They will work in close consultation with senior team members and sales team representatives to find best practice solutions.

Undertaking of site inspections, involving measure ups and determining of suitability of site for a designed system will form part of this role.

The estimator role will draw up "as built" plans showing location and type of installed fall protection system, shop drawings and other fabrication/product drawings as required to suit a project.

Experience within the height safety and fall protection industry is not required, but an interest in the design and engineering of height safety systems would be favourable.

Experience working with Bluebeam, AutoCAD or other CAD programs would be advantageous.

You will be responsible for:

· Tendering works - new builds, existing buildings, and rectification work.

· Reviewing scope and specification,

· Producing installation plans

· Liaising with our customers, suppliers, and project staff.

· Site visits and client meetings

About You

· You will have previous experience in construction and/or height safety estimating & drafting

· Previous experience interpreting scope & specifications.

· The ability to manage your time and meet deadlines.

· A keen eye for detail & quality.

· The ability to work independently, but also within a team

· Revise quotes as required to assist sales reps to meet client needs and win orders

· An understanding and the ability to design using Bluebeam and explain to clients Abseil, Fall Arrest and Fall Restraint systems

· AutoCAD & Blue Beam competency is highly regarded but not required.

· The ability to maintain our CRM system (Simpro) and the paperwork systems in an orderly fashion.

Remuneration will be based on qualifications, skills and experience.

Ideally we want to identify someone who we can train to become a senior estimator and a key member of our staff.
