Wangaratta Police Station requires an energetic and dedicated person to be part of the Administrative/Property team.

The successful applicant will be required to work in a team environment at Wangaratta Police Station, be a quick learner and able to self-motivate. The role will undertake the recording of administrative files internally and externally as well as the management and recording of seized and lost property.

The role reports directly to the Team Leader Administration and will have some contact and interaction with external stakeholders.

The successful applicant may be required on occasions to perform duties at other work locations within Eastern Region Division 4.

Your duties will include:

  • Management and maintenance of manual and computerised systems, records and registers.
  • Preparation of a wide range of routine correspondence and other various types of transactions with follow-up as required.
  • Deliver a high level of customer service to internal and external stakeholders via telephone and email enquiries.
  • Receiving, storing and disposal of property while maintaining highly accurate records.
  • Computerised purchasing, ordering and processing of inventory stock, general office stationery and equipment.
  • Working on Victoria Police databases / systems.
  • Other relatable duties as tasked.

About You:

The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:

  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, alongside an ability to professionally engage with stakeholders to deliver a high level of customer service.
  • Experience in administration, including demonstrated experience in systematic and accurate record management.
  • A proven ability to work in a dynamic team environment, with a strong commitment to meeting workplace objectives.
  • A demonstrated ability to manage and prioritise work with ability to work unsupervised.
  • A high level of computer proficiency, particularly in relation to word processing, data entry and adapting to customised program packages.
  • Self-motivation, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to meet changing work requirements
  • A proved record of ethical behaviour and a commitment to the Victoria Police Code of Ethics, Conduct and the Organisational Values.

Further Information:

  • One (1) x Part Time hours per fortnight), ongoing position available,
  • Position in located at Wangaratta Police Complex Handley Street, Wangaratta) or any other location within the Division/PSA as required.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
