Job Title:Clinical Nurse Consultant - Neurofibromatosis
About the Role:
This is a part-time ongoing position at 30.4 hours (FTE 0.2) per fortnight as a Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) - Neurofibromatosis. The Clinical Nurse Consultant works within the multidisciplinary team, providing and coordinating care for children with NF and their families. The CNC NF coordinates weekly NF meeting, ensuring appropriate services are involved in the care team, including Neurology, Paediatrics, Plastic Surgery, Ophthalmology, Neuropsychology, and Genetics. Key components of the role include triage of intake for new referrals to the NF clinic, clinical assessment and planning, research recruitment, appropriate screening and follow-up, paediatric phone review of patients taking MEK inhibitors and stimulants as part of their NF care. The CNC NF is the key point of contact for families of children with NF.
You will be responsible for:
- Provide expert clinical knowledge and skills in the assessment and management of patients within the area of specialisation
- Stay updated on current research, trends and advancements in nursing practice to enhance clinical knowledge and inform evidence-based care decisions
- Acts as a clinical resource, advisor and technical expert
- Collaborate and consult with healthcare teams, patients and families/carers to develop and implement patient care plans, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe and efficient care
