Are you passionate about developing the next generation of trade professionals? SMS Mining Services is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Maintenance Apprentice Training Coordinator to join our team in Perth.

This pivotal role will see you overseeing the development, delivery, and evaluation of our apprenticeship training programs. You'll be the champion for our apprentices, ensuring they receive the highest quality training and mentorship while driving both their individual growth and the overall success of our program.

What You'll Be Doing

This is a hands-on role where you will:

  • Coordinate all aspects of the apprenticeship training program, from induction and on-the-job learning to off-the-job training sessions.
  • Support and mentor apprentices throughout their journey, providing guidance and care as needed.
  • Liaise with SMS site leadership and external training providers (like TAFE/WesTrac) to ensure our training meets both industry standards and organisational requirements.
  • Develop our internal training programs for the Apprentice and Trade upgrade program.
  • Maintain accurate training records and handle the reconciliation of incentive payments through WAMS and DAMS.
  • Travel regularly to all SMS operating sites to engage with apprentices and ensure program consistency.
  • Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment, actively demonstrating a commitment to safety through personal example.

What You'll Bring

To hit the ground running, you will need:

  • Qualifications: A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122).
  • Experience: Proven experience in coordinating training programs, particularly within an apprenticeship or vocational setting.
  • Knowledge: A strong understanding of Australian apprenticeship systems, standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and strong organisational abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Attitude: The demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
