Your new role

As a Senior Governance Officer, you will support the Head of Governance across a range of complex and routine governance matters.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting independent probity reviews of procurement processes
  • Managing internal and external investigations and complaints
  • Overseeing compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Administering applications under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009
  • Supporting policy development and corporate governance initiatives
  • Maintaining key governance registers and databases
  • Facilitating Code of Conduct and Fraud & Corruption Prevention training
  • Assisting with annual reporting and privacy compliance
  • Supporting implementation of the Public Interest Disclosures Act 2022

This is a
contract role through to 30 June 2026
, offering flexibility and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a high-performing governance team. The role offers a
hybrid work arrangement: 3 days in the office and 2 days from home
.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and a Class C Driver's Licence
  • Demonstrated experience in governance, including at least two of the following:
  • GIPA Act administration
  • Probity reviews
  • Policy development
  • Investigations coordination
  • Statutory compliance
  • Experience in managing and coordinating external investigations into alleged misconduct, ensuring procedural fairness
  • Experience in drafting reports, policies and correspondence
  • Local Government experience
