Your new role
As a Senior Governance Officer, you will support the Head of Governance across a range of complex and routine governance matters.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting independent probity reviews of procurement processes
- Managing internal and external investigations and complaints
- Overseeing compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements
- Administering applications under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009
- Supporting policy development and corporate governance initiatives
- Maintaining key governance registers and databases
- Facilitating Code of Conduct and Fraud & Corruption Prevention training
- Assisting with annual reporting and privacy compliance
- Supporting implementation of the Public Interest Disclosures Act 2022
This is a
contract role through to 30 June 2026
, offering flexibility and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a high-performing governance team. The role offers a
hybrid work arrangement: 3 days in the office and 2 days from home
.
What you'll need to succeed
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and a Class C Driver's Licence
- Demonstrated experience in governance, including at least two of the following:
- GIPA Act administration
- Probity reviews
- Policy development
- Investigations coordination
- Statutory compliance
- Experience in managing and coordinating external investigations into alleged misconduct, ensuring procedural fairness
- Experience in drafting reports, policies and correspondence
- Local Government experience
