Placemaking NSW is responsible for managing and caring for some of Sydney's most iconic harbourside venues and locations, including The Rocks, Barangaroo, Darling Harbour and White Bay Power Station. We also lead the planning and delivery of the Bays West Urban Renewal Precinct, a state significant project that will bring new homes, jobs, and public spaces to 77 hectares of government-owned land just 2 kilometres from Sydney's CBD.

The role
With around 150 heritage-listed buildings across some of Sydney's most iconic precincts, our small but dedicated Heritage team plays a big role. As Heritage Officer, you'll help make sure these unique places are properly cared for by providing conservation advice, undertaking historic research, and coordinating the delivery of our 10-year Conservation Management Plan update program. You'll work alongside our Design and Place team to help shape meaningful, high-quality outcomes that respect the past and meet the needs of our communities today.

It's a role that calls for a deep appreciation of heritage and an ability to advocate for best-practice outcomes across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
