About The Role
BHP's Shutdown Execution (CMO) team is seeking a high-performing
Superintendent Project Controls
to lead a team of professional project control engineers and accountants. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving excellence in project planning, cost control, and performance analysis across our shutdown portfolio.

In This Role You Will

• Be first and foremost focused on creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader.
• Lead a team of experienced project controls professionals, fostering a high-performance culture built on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee the development and execution of robust project control frameworks, including planning, scheduling, cost management, risk analysis, and reporting.
• Partner with Site senior Executives, Shutdown Execution Project Managers, Finance, and Engineering teams to ensure accurate forecasting, budget adherence, and timely delivery of shutdowns.
• Champion data-driven decision-making through insightful analysis and performance reporting.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery and cost efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with BHP standards, governance frameworks, and relevant legislative requirements.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to align project controls with business objectives.

About You
You are a strategic thinker and experienced leader with a passion for delivering results through empowered teams. You thrive in dynamic environments and bring a proactive, solutions-focused mindset to every challenge. Your ability to influence, communicate, and collaborate across disciplines sets you apart.

You Will Have

• Extensive experience in project controls, cost engineering, or project management within large-scale industrial or mining operations.
• Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams of engineers and finance professionals.
• Strong understanding of project control systems, tools, and methodologies (e.g., Primavera, SAP, Power BI).
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• A commitment to safety, integrity, and continuous improvement.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, Finance, or a related discipline.
