Greens Superintendent

The Gladstone Golf Club is looking for an experienced Greens Superintendent.

The Gladstone Golf Club prides itself on being a well maintained community owned 18 hole course located in the coastal Central QLD gateway to the barrier reef. Leading a committed team and reporting to the Services Manager and CEO, the Superintendent will be responsible for the maintenance of the Gladstone Golf Course and other associated sporting facilities. They will also be responsible for the ground staff and the efficient operation and maintenance of all machinery.

About the position:

Responsibilities would include but are not limited to:

· Management of course irrigation.

· Implement renovation plans 6 monthly.

· Working to monthly budgets.

· Capital expenditure projects as needed.

· Confident with pest and disease management.

· Regular machinery maintenance.

· Ordering of all chemical, sand and fuels required.

· Course preparation for play.

· Management of bowling green, two Soccer fields and Cricket wicket.

· Maintenance of all Club gardens and surrounds.

· Working closely with Club captains and Golf Pro in the planning for future direction.

· Weekly Toolbox meetings.

· Manage Toro Lynx Irrigation Systems.

Ability to work in humid conditions would be considered a must in Gladstone's climate.

What does the Club need from me?

· With winter green fairways and 328 couch greens, knowledge of warm season grasses would be an advantage.

· Certificate 3 and or Certificate 4 in Sports Management.

· Chemical Application Licence / ACDC Licence

· Cost reporting and communication skills

· Ability to lead and motivate existing team.

· Knowledge of WHS practices.
