The work area

RevenueWA
collects revenue on behalf of the Government and pays grants and subsidies to Western Australians. Although a business unit within DTF, the Commissioner of State Revenue is an independent statutory role and is personally responsible for the administration of State taxation and grant laws by RevenueWA staff. This administrative function covers the application of duties, land tax and payroll tax laws, as well as carrying out compliance audits and investigations, and developing revenue related legislation. RevenueWA increases taxpayer awareness through education programs and manages the legislative appeals process.

The Department of Treasury and Finance currently operates under two sets of organisational values, following its formation on 1 July 2025. The values of
clarity, empathy, growth and collaboration
continue to guide everything we do in
RevenueWA.
In time, as we settle in our new structure and culture, we will collaboratively develop a unified set of values that represent who we are as the Department of Treasury and Finance.

The role

The Senior Revenue Consultant provides technical advice and support and exercises technical judgement in the application and administration of taxation legislation in complex situations. This position also analyses, interprets and applies taxation legislation to complex documents and transactions and makes assessments accordingly.

You will be expected to build and nurture relationships and be willing to seek feedback and learn.

More information about the day-to-day tasks is available in the Day in the life of a Senior Revenue Consultant.
