About us

Ashleigh Community is a welcoming aged care home in Sale. Our kitchen team plays a big part in residents' daily comfort, serving fresh, nutritious meals with care.

The role

We're looking for casual Kitchenhands and Chefs to support daily food service. You'll work with our Catering Supervisor and team to prep, cook, plate and clean to a high standard.

What you'll do

  • Prepare, cook and serve meals, including texture-modified diets and special dietary needs
  • Safe food handling, temperature checks and HACCP records
  • Set up, clear down and keep kitchen, dining and equipment areas clean
  • Receive and rotate stock, basic ordering support
  • Work cooperatively with care staff to deliver meals on time
  • Follow infection prevention and workplace health and safety procedures

About you

  • Kitchenhand: basic food prep skills and a strong work ethic
  • Chef: commercial cookery experience in aged care, health, or high-volume settings
  • Sound knowledge of food safety and allergens
  • Reliable, organised, and calm in a busy kitchen
  • Comfortable engaging with older people in a respectful, friendly way

Required or willing to obtain

  • Safe Food Handling Certificate
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (or ability to obtain)
  • Availability for rotating rosters including weekends and public holidays
