Head Chef & Pizza Chef – Lavandula Farm
Lavandula Farm is an iconic historical site, boasting 200-year-old Swiss Italian-built buildings and over 100 acres of European gardens.
As a busy tourism destination open 7 days a week from 9am–5pm, with a café, restaurant, pizza oven, wine bar, deli and wedding/event space, we're looking for a talented and passionate Head Chef / Pizza Chef to join our growing team.
You'll be responsible for leading our kitchen operations, delivering high-quality, rustic European-inspired meals, and ensuring a smooth and efficient service across our diverse hospitality offerings.
Who You Are- Experienced chef with a strong background in high-volume, fast-paced kitchens
- Skilled in menu planning, prep and service, and maintaining high food standards
- Strong organisational and leadership skills
- Confident managing kitchen operations, ordering, and team coordination
- Experience with pizza ovens and traditional Italian-style cooking
- Calm and positive under pressure
- Able to work collaboratively with front of house and management
- Passionate about fresh, local ingredients and creating memorable food experiences
- Full-time position, Wednesday to Sunday, 9am–5pm
- $35–$45 per hour (based on experience)
- Prepare and execute menu items for café, restaurant, and events
- Operate and manage the wood-fired pizza oven
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards
- Oversee kitchen staff and coordinate service for busy weekends and events
- Work closely with management to plan menus, specials, and wedding functions
Located in Shepherds Flat (not far from Daylesford), Lavandula Farm offers a beautiful working environment surrounded by gardens, history and hospitality.
