We're looking for an Infrastructure Platform Manager to join a Financial Services provider, with offices across both Sydney and Brisbane.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of their technology infrastructure landscape. You'll be a key player in the engineering leadership team, driving the delivery of inflight infrastructure projects as well as leading a high-performing team of Systems and DevOps Engineers. This is a blended role where you'll be both a strategic leader and a hands-on manager, directly influencing the organisations technology transformation delivery pipeline.

What you'll do:

  • Lead and Inspire: Mentor and guide a team of skilled Systems and DevOps Engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Architect and Deliver: Own the design, implementation, and ongoing management of our core infrastructure platform, ensuring it is secure, reliable, and scalable to support our business growth.
  • Drive the Delivery Pipeline: Work closely with software development and product teams to integrate infrastructure solutions that accelerate our delivery pipeline and improve efficiency.
  • Be a Hands-On Leader: Dive into the technical work alongside your team, providing expert guidance on everything from cloud architecture and automation to system performance and security.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute the long-term infrastructure roadmap, aligning it with business goals and emerging technology trends.

The types of projects handled by the Platform Manager:

  • Platform/Traditional Infrastructure: These are foundational projects that involve maintaining and upgrading the core physical and virtual infrastructure, such as a hardware refresh.
  • Customer Onboarding: This involves the process of integrating and setting up new customers, which can include configuring their access to systems and services.
  • Application-Level Features: The role also supports the development of new product features at the application layer, which requires collaboration with software development teams.
  • Cloud Implementation: The manager is responsible for significant cloud-related initiatives, such as implementing solutions on the Azure platform.

What you'll bring:

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a technology-focused environment, ideally in the banking and financial services sector.
  • Deep expertise in Azure cloud and DevOps platforms (Azure DevOps).
  • Strong hands-on experience with IaC tools (Terraform or Ansible), and containerisation technologies such as (Kubernetes, Docker)
  • A solid understanding of DevOps methodologies and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring technical teams.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
