responsibilities

Provide Infrastructure SME knowledge in support of designing, implementing and maintaining infrastructure and cloud services

Develop and maintain the existing infrastructure automation and management frameworks

Implement continuous improvement to supporting integrations such as security, observability and reporting tools

Work closely with DevOps and Application teams to implement best practices across the full system stack

Ensure the implementation of security and resilience controls on infrastructure and cloud platforms

Provide escalation support for operational teams as required for incident and change implementation

experience and qualifications

Must have

5+ years practical experience in management and operation of operating systems (Windows and/or RHEL) in an enterprise environment, covering networking, system management, policy implementation and supporting services such as DNS and AD

Experience with common enterprise compute platforms such as vSphere, hardware management and deployment

Practical and operational experience with AWS covering EC2, VPC networking, IAM structures and common services

Demonstratable knowledge and skills implementing terraform for infrastructure as code management

Coding or scripting capabilities with a preference for Golang, PowerShell or Python

Working experience with git-based CICD operations – Gitlab CI preferred but not essential

A solid understanding of IT security practices in general – experience with OS hardening and supporting tooling

A background in working in a project driven environment, and collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

A curiosity in technology in general and a drive to continually improve systems under your guidance

Nice to have

Practical experience with other cloud platforms (GCP or Azure), and/or Kubernetes (EKS, GKE or other)

Familiarity in cloud-based application architectures and practical knowledge of their implementation

Experience with containers and supporting tooling such as Docker, Ansible, Vault and Helm

An interest or participation in open-source communities, infrastructure technologies and/or technology in general

An empathetic outlook and willingness to teach, lead and share knowledge of your expertise
