Senior Employment Lawyer - SA / SC / Partner

Melbourne | Employment Law | Full-time / Part-time / Hybrid

No practice? No problem.

This role comes with a steady stream of quality work and an established client base. You'll step into a lead position within a well-regarded commercial firm, managing the Employment Law practice with autonomy, support, and a junior lawyer to assist you.

The Role

You'll advise a broad mix of clients- professional services, construction, healthcare, education, retail - on the full spectrum of employment and workplace relations matters. You'll have oversight of the practice, but the day-to-day is yours to run.

Matters include:

  • Unfair dismissal, general protections, discrimination claims
  • Advocacy in the Fair Work Commission and other jurisdictions
  • Executive employment, restraint clauses, termination strategies
  • Workplace investigations, bullying, harassment, misconduct
  • Contracts, award interpretation, HR compliance
  • Restructures, redundancies, M&A due diligence

Once settled, you'll also help shape the direction of the practice - through mentoring, client relationships, and BD.

About You

  • 7+ years' PAE in employment and workplace relations law
  • Confident advising employers on complex matters
  • Able to work independently with support when needed
  • No portable practice required - work is ready for you
  • Strong drafting, advocacy, and communication skills
  • Interest in mentoring and contributing to team culture
