Senior Software Engineer (React/Java/API)

About the role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll collaborate with delivery leaders and engineering teams to build scalable React web applications, APIs, and microservices that support strategic initiatives. You'll play a key role in uplifting engineering capabilities, driving quality, automation, and security while mentoring others and leading technical best practice adoption. To be successful in this role you will have proven experience with React, APIs, and Spring Boot (Java).

What you'll do

  • Design, develop, and support high-quality software solutions across web, API, and microservices
  • Provide technical leadership in automation, CI/CD, configuration management, and monitoring practices
  • Embed secure software development principles through code reviews and threat modelling
  • Coach and mentor engineers, fostering best practices and continuous improvement
  • Analyse system requirements, create technical designs, and ensure robust testing across all phases

What you'll bring

  • 5+ years' software engineering experience, including proficiency in React, Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservice architecture
  • Experience coaching and mentoring engineers (highly regarded)
  • Proven Testing skills and ATDD or Behavioural Driven Development
  • Proven ability to resolve complex issues, with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
