The role.

  • Newly created role in our growing pet category with responsibilities in both sourcing and selling ingredients to pet food manufacturers B2B
  • Long term career opportunity
  • Existing customer base to manage and grow
  • Identify new opportunities and build new business
  • Undertake customer visits local and interstate to grow the category
  • Build on existing supplier relationships and build new supplier relationships to source ingredients both local and international
  • Manage supplier relationships and negotiate ensuring best terms
  • Competitive total remuneration package inclusive of car allowance and phone allowance
  • Derrimut western suburbs head office location
  • Monday to Friday 8.30am-5pm + potential one day work from home after 6 months.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience in a buying role, sourcing ingredients for the pet food industry locally and overseas combined with sales experience selling to pet food manufacturers
  • Willing to undertake both procurement and sales activities including new business and growing existing accounts
  • Strong understanding of food safety and compliance in this industry
  • Ideally a science, food science degree or similar
  • Established relationships in pet food manufacturing including suppliers and customers
  • Strong negotiation and problem solving skills.
