About the role:
We're on the lookout for a dedicated and compassionate Inclusion Officer to join our Child Wellbeing and Inclusion team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on collaboration, problem-solving, and creating environments where all children feel supported and included.
Reporting to the Child Wellbeing and Inclusion Manager, you'll play a vital role in supporting families, educators, and services to ensure children with diverse needs have the right supports and funding in place. From navigating funding processes to building inclusive practices on the ground, this is a role where your impact will be felt every day.
This is a hands-on role where your ability to connect with families, educators, and agencies, combined with your organisational and admin skills, will directly shape children's experience at TeamKids.
What you'll be doing
- Develop, prepare, and submit inclusion funding applications (IDFM, VIA, NDIS, Agency).
- Support the development of Inclusion Support Plans (ISPs) and individual strategies.
- Liaise with families, carers, and external agencies to support smooth transitions into TeamKids.
- Provide recommendations and strategies to strengthen inclusive practices across services.
- Build the capacity of educators to confidently support children who are neurodiverse.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and ensure compliance in all processes.
- Work closely with Service Directors, Coordinators, and our Operations Team to embed inclusion.
Ideal candidate will have:
- A qualification (or working towards) in an ACECQA-approved field such as Teaching, Education Support, Early Childhood Education, Youth Work, Sports Science, or Children's Services.
- Experience working with children who require additional support.
- Knowledge of behaviour and inclusion strategies.
- Strong organisational and time management skills to manage admin and funding processes.
- Confidence in working collaboratively with families, educators, and external agencies.
- A valid Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
