The Organisation
Brooker Consulting is proud to partner with Women with Disabilities Victoria (WDV) in the search for their next Chief Executive Officer. This is more than a leadership role. It's an opportunity to shape the future of disability and gender equity in Victoria, in a position that blends strategic influence, community leadership, and operational strength.
We're looking for someone who brings clarity and vision, is grounded in lived experience, and can represent WDV with credibility and care.
WDV is a vibrant organisation of women and gender diverse people with disabilities working for women and gender diverse people with disabilities in Victoria. It is the peak organisation for women and gender diverse people with disabilities in Victoria. WDV's 2025–2029 Strategic Plan envisions a safe and fulfilling life for all women and gender diverse people with disabilities in Victoria.

About the role:
As CEO, you'll lead a values-driven, community-led organisation with a skilled team and strong reputation. You'll work closely with the Board, partners and members to deliver WDV's mission and sustain its impact.
The engagement is 4 days/week (0.8 FTE).
You will:
- Lead our strategic direction – deliver the 2025–2029 Strategic Plan and adapt to emerging priorities
- Champion lived experience – uphold WDV's model of leadership by people with disabilities and ensure disabled people's voices guide everything we do.
- Be the public face of WDV – represent the organisation across media, government, and key sector platforms
- Drive advocacy and policy influence – lead campaigns and submissions that push for systemic change
- Secure our future – lead funding negotiations, diversify revenue, and ensure strong financial stewardship
- Support and develop our team – foster an inclusive, respectful workplace that values collaboration and care
- Partner with the Board – ensure sound governance, transparency, and strategic alignment
- Oversee day-to-day operations – ensure systems, policies, programs and reporting are fit-for-purpose
- Grow relationships – strengthen trust with members, allies, funders, and the broader community
About You
You may have held an executive role in community, advocacy or policy. You may be stepping into CEO leadership for the first time. Most importantly, you bring clarity of purpose, care for people, and a deep belief in rights-based, intersectional feminist leadership.
You will likely:
- identify as a woman or gender diverse person with disability
- Understand disability rights and intersectional feminism
- Have experience leading people, teams or organisations
- Know how to engage with government, funders, and media
- Be confident in your communication and grounded in your values
- Be committed to accountability, care and equity — in both process and outcomes
