About the role

The ICT Senior Technical Officer is responsible to the Project Technical Lead and ICT Project Manager, School Administration Server Remediation (SASR) Program, for coordinating and delivering a range of specialist technical functions and services, which support Department for Education ICT across the state and the delivery of improved ICT infrastructure within schools. This work is part of the Department's Digital Strategy and Transformation objectives focusing on the ongoing improvement and life cycle management of ICT infrastructure and services delivered to all government schools and preschools.

The ICT Senior Technical Officer:

  • Acts as a subject matter expert in Windows Server Technologies and related supporting hardware networking, application and security infrastructure.
  • Provides a high level of customer service in the delivery of second and third level support and technical advice relating to issues and requests logged by education system users.
  • Ensures that vendor specific best practice processes and procedures are applied operationally in consideration of the ITIL framework.
  • Contributes towards solution design and maintains solution and process documentation, as well as their implementation and support arrangements within the program.
  • Assists in the planning of technical work activity based on objectives, risks, priorities, and resourcing.
  • Acts as a conduit between the project's technical team and external technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

Essential: Nil

Desirable: A tertiary qualification in an ICT related discipline or equivalent experience ITIL v4 Foundations.

Special conditions

The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.

The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration

ASO5 $85,790 - $95,413 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (12%) and leave loading.
