About The Role
The Technical Liaison Officer engages with teams across the agency to understand their technology needs, provide advice, address issues, help staff have a more productive experience with technology, and identify challenges and opportunities that technology can help with.
The role will provide a direct point of contact for staff requesting IT assistance and performs key aspects of the IT Service Management (ITSM) process, including Service Desk, Service Request Management, and Incident Management. The Technical Liaison Officer manages service requests and incidents logged via the ITSM portal, resolving or escalating them as appropriate.
As a Technical Liaison Officer, You Will
- Proactively engage with staff across the Department according to an agreed schedule to identify needs, provide advice, and gather insights on the experience and proficiency of staff with technology.
- Communicate insights from staff engagement activities to IT management for the identification, prioritisation, and planning of initiatives to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of staff through technology and reduce business risks.
- Provide an in-person and/or online point of contact for staff requiring assistance with technology, resolve requests and issues, and ensure these are appropriately recorded in the ITSM system.
- Ensure seamless operations are achieved through the effective installation, maintenance, and decommissioning of end-user hardware and software, peripherals, networked office equipment, desktop and room-based audio-visual equipment, and telephony equipment and services, liaising with suppliers and technology partners as needed.
- Support operational continuity by managing the activation, transfer, and deactivation of staff network accounts and access to related services such as email, business applications, and security groups.
Key Competencies
To apply and succeed in the role, you will have:
- Experience in the operation of a range of information systems, PC hardware, operating systems, and applications.
- Experience with the Microsoft Windows / MS Office environment and Network Operating Systems and installing and configuring software and hardware.
- Knowledge of modern Service Desk and Desktop Support procedures, practices, techniques, and processes associated with providing support to customers in an IT environment in alignment with ITIL and SA Government policies, processes, and procedures.
- Experience in providing effective customer support in an ICT environment, including responding appropriately to user issues and requests.
Remuneration
Competitive salary ASO5 $85790 to $95413 p.a. plus superannuation

Qualifications
- Essential: Nil
- Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or other relevant discipline.
Special Conditions
- The role will be offered full-time (1.0 FTE) ongoing basis for up to 24 months.
- Satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check (NPC) Working with Children's Check (WWCC) required prior to employment.
