About the Role

A Solution Architect opportunity is available within a major technology program in the resources sector. This position has opened to backfill a recent resignation and sits within a collaborative architecture team.

You'll focus on designing large-scale industrial software systems, translating defined business requirements into high-level solution designs that extend and enhance existing products. You'll work closely with product and engineering teams to shape the architecture, demonstrating how the system will evolve to meet new demands while maintaining performance and reliability.

Day to day, you'll develop high-level design documents, map subsystem interactions, and define how components communicate, ensuring smooth integration across multiple teams and disciplines.

You Should Have

  • Solid software engineering background and experience (a couple of years as a developer is sufficient)
  • Ability to read and understand code at a high level and use technical tools confidently
  • Experience collaborating with large, cross-functional teams
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Capability to grasp broad scope and dive into specific technical areas
  • Resources or heavy-industry sector experience highly beneficial
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in the software space, ideally with some development background

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to microservices architecture
  • Strong understanding of system integration concepts
  • Familiarity with Word, PowerPoint, Confluence, and Jira
  • Knowledge of large-scale industrial or operational technology environments
