Hamilton Group is a Geelong based company who specialises in local historical buildings, restoring them to their former glory Due to an increase in demand and projects we are looking to expand our Garden Maintenance Team.

About the Role

As an experienced Maintenance Gardener, you will be contributing to the maintenance of all garden spaces across various locations within Geelong. This role is highly dynamic, with a great variation of commercial and residential sites. Working closely with the Hamilton Group landscaping team, there is also opportunities to be involved with creating new landscapes and feature garden spaces. The position is on a full-time basis, Monday to Friday.

Main duties and responsibilities include:

  • Pruning and shaping of topiary and hedging
  • General lawn and garden maintenance such as mowing, whipper snipping, trimming, blowing, weeding and rubbish removal
  • Application of fertiliser and herbicides
  • Pests and disease control
  • Feeding and fertilisation of plants and lawns
  • Utilise various hand and power tools
  • Maintain and repair tools, equipment and structures as required
  • Continuous reporting to management
  • Keeping construction site clean and presentable
  • Responsible for assuring the quality of own work
  • Operation of machinery and mobile equipment where necessary
  • Work individually under general supervision & in team environment
  • Implements basic fault-finding and problem-solving skills

Skills and Experience

  • Qualification in Horticulture is desirable but not necessary
  • A positive attitude and a love for gardening
  • Minimum 4 years experience in a similar role
  • Be reliable with a professional work ethic and positive attitude
  • White card
  • Vehicle & licence to travel to different commercial sites around Geelong
