Horticulturalist

Absolute Plants and Landscapes are offering an exciting opportunity for a Horticulturist to join our team working primarily between the West of Melbourne and the Bellarine.

This diverse role combines practical on-site horticulture work with the flexibility when required, to assist the APL Construction Team with general tasks, soft landscaping, and external commercial projects.

You will work independently, reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, with the support of a company vehicle and tools-of-trade.

What You'll Do

• Perform a range of soft landscaping and horticultural tasks across various sites.
• Assist the APL Construction Team when needed.
• Work towards weekly goals set in collaboration with the Maintenance Manager.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are kept in a safe, clean, and presentable condition.
• Promptly report any defects, damage, or safety concerns to the Area Manager.
• Maintain high safety standards and contribute to a productive site environment.

What We're Looking For

• A strong passion for horticulture, with the ability to manage gardens/projects from initial works through to establishment.
• A practical, hands-on operator with a versatile skill set.
• Confident working both independently and within a team.
• Skilled in using power tools, ride-on mowers, and towing a trailer.
• Manual driver's licence preferred.
• Organised, adaptable, and focused on achieving daily and weekly goals.
• Basic computer skills for reporting and communication.
• Must hold a valid Working with Children Check.
• Must also hold a Construction White Card
