About the role:

This role is part of JFA Purple Orange's SKILL SA project, which provides peer networks for the disability community in South Australia, both regionally and in Adelaide.

The successful candidate will provide leadership and support for the SKILL SA project's peer networks in the areas of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse disability communities (CALD). This includes direct support for peer network casual staff as well as support to develop, deliver and grow different CALD peer networks.

This role will be working closely with our Hispanic, Bhutanese and Syrian Women's groups, all of which are located in Adelaide.

This is a part time role (0.8 FTE), offered until June 2027. Ideally you will be able to start no later than early January 2026. There is some flexibility in the number of hours worked per week, and how those hours are spread across the week.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Be the point of contact for our team of wonderful casuals who facilitate the CALD meetings, including meeting with them regularly and providing professional development opportunities.
  • Oversee the operations of CALD peer networks, including co-designed content, capacity building workshops and advocacy opportunities.
  • Guide the CALD peer networks to be anchored on capacity building in support of autonomy, leadership, choice and control
  • Identifying and supporting people with disability in South Australia to move into facilitator and leadership roles with Purple Orange and external organisations
  • Partnering with local and regional communities and seeking opportunities to influence in local, state and national policy and practice

Who are we?

About you:

We are looking for an experienced project leader who is strongly aligned with our values of Personhood, Citizenhood, and Capacity Building. You will also have:

  • A deep understanding of the issues facing CALD communities, and how they differ to other disability communities.
  • Well-developed or emerging networks within South Australia.
  • Curiosity and self-motivation.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a schedule of program outcomes, with note of time and budget boundaries.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.

Lived experience of disability in the CALD communities will be highly valued.

Why work with us?

  • Flexible work arrangements, including hybrid options.
  • A supportive, inclusive team culture in an organisation who truly values work life balance.
