Showtime Event Group is a young and vibrant event management and catering company. We work exclusively in some of Melbourne's most iconic venues. In addition to this, we are the preferred caterer in many more partnership arrangements. We Bring the Show to our clients, wherever they choose to host, be it in our spaces, at private locations, or in the online arena.

We are growing each year, with the addition of new exclusive venues. The group now manages venues for the National Trust of Australia (Victoria), Mission Whitten Oval and Melbourne Town Hall, along with our South Wharf Precinct venues, Hellenic Museum, SEALIFE Melbourne Aquarium.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team, specialising in curating events and catering experiences to meet the needs of our diverse and exciting clients. We are growing as a team and developing our structure.

About the role

We do not 'book functions': we curate events. In your role, you will be generating sales enquiries for some of Melbourne's most iconic CBD venues. You will ensure that industry bodies and venue finders are kept up to date with our constantly developing suite of products and venues. You will identify new potential clients, introduce them to our brand and convert opportunities to qualified event leads.

As the Business Development Manager you will:

  • Design exciting and attractive proposals to illustrate and quote event concepts for clients
  • Achieve individual budget
  • Develop and drive strategy to increase our market share of corporate and business events
  • Develop and drive strategy to increase engagement with industry bodies and partners
  • Deliver trade shows, venue familiarisation programs, and client engagement activities as required
  • Develop sales targeting strategies and collateral to grow our visibility in the National and International MICE markets
  • Always consider the best outcome for the client, and maintain a high level of positive customer feedback for their pre-event experience

To be considered for the role, you will need to exhibit:

  • Experience in event sales
  • A commitment to growth
  • A background in hospitality
  • A knowledge of the wider events industry and competitor landscape
  • A real passion for creativity and exceeding client expectations

This is a full-time role working a 5 day week with flexibility to meet business demands.
