Dendy Cinemas is one of Australia's leading quality cinema venues with a mix of quality multiplex cinema and the exclusive Dendy Premium Lounge hosting an experience like no other. Dendy Cinemas is an exciting, fast paced environment dedicated to providing exceptional guest experiences and we are looking for a Technical Manager to join our team.

Working closely with the General Manager Brisbane and the National Technical Manager, this position manages all aspects of the sites on screen presentation and the cinemas projection systems ensuring the quality of all presentations meets and exceeds industry standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise and maintain all aspects of cinema projection systems, ensuring the quality of all presentations meets and exceeds industry standards

  • Complete local repairs and maintenance, or arranging for work to be completed
  • Maintain inventory control of consumables and maintenance of all projector lamps / filters.
  • Change projector lamps and filters when required
  • To assist the General Manager Brisbane with all areas of venue maintenance at Brisbane locations.
  • Liaise with National Technical Manager and support providers to ensure all software updates are performed and maintained as required
  • Maintain accurate logs and data relating to projector maintenance schedules, including tasks such as port glass cleaning and general bio-box area cleaning.

Identify & resolve technical issues

  • Escalate all issues in a timely manner, ensuring critical issues are promptly resolved in ways that minimize screen down time & session loss. Ensure key stakeholders are communicated with through the process.
  • Liaise with, coordinate and engage external technical providers and contractors as required, fostering strong and productive relationships to provide best outcomes for Dendy Cinemas
  • Seek approvals at appropriate junctures for spend approval or contractor work to be carried out.
  • Content management

  • Manage all playlists and alternate content, ensuring content & KDMs arrive on time, is tested and ready to play

  • Ensure all requirements for paid advertising contracts are adhered to
  • Liaise with Cinema Management to ensure all special events and presentations are prepared and delivered on screen according to requirements

Apply quality control techniques and auditing to ensure technical presentations are consistently delivered to the highest standards and give our customers the best cinema experience possible

  • Ensure detailed technical records and documentation are maintained. Provide regular reporting to key stakeholders and management team.
  • Create and maintain staff training and competency standards for Technical, ensuring effective knowledge transfer systems and support documentation are in place.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Previous Cinema experience an advantage.
  • High technical aptitude, previous experience with cinema digital projection systems a bonus.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and ability to pivot and think on your feet.
  • Knowledge of file transfer systems and computer networking.
  • Solid computer skills, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Initiative and high attention to detail with the ability to multitask.
  • A love of quality cinema.

The Cinemas trade 7 days a week over extended hours, and as such this position requires working on a rotating roster with shifts during evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.
