About us
Maranguka, meaning 'caring for others' in Ngemba language, is a grassroots Community Hub working alongside the Bourke Aboriginal community shaping and self-determining our future. The Aboriginal community need the right mix of services delivered at the right times to stop our people from falling between the gaps. This means being appropriately empowered to take greater self-responsibility in coordinating services and caring for our own.
Maranguka is our way of doing community business and development – by building Maranguka, our people are taking control of our own future. Our initiatives mainstream the principles of cultural-authority, cultural-autonomy, and cultural-safety, in the design and implementation of programs and service delivery.
About the role
Maranguka Ltd, is seeking an exceptional individual to take on the role of Chief Executive Officer - Maranguka Services. As the CEO, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction, operational leadership, and driving the continued growth and success of the organisation. This is a full-time role based in Bourke, NSW 2840.
What you'll be doing
The CEO – Maranguka Services is responsible for leading the operations of Maranguka Ltd. It is the role of the CEO to deliver on the organisations strategic priorities and to ensure the lawful and ethical functioning of the organisation, implementing the directions of the Board within budget and meeting relevant timeframes.
What we're looking for
- Knowledge and appreciation of the cultural and social needs of Aboriginal people combined with continuing respect and support for Aboriginal cultural practices in dealing with clients, their families, communities and staff.
- Extensive (5+ years) experience in management of staff.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in providing strategic and operational leadership (including business planning and budgeting).
- Knowledge and experience of industrial legislation, awards, policies and practices.
- Experience developing, negotiating, and managing cross sector partnerships and negotiating partnership agreements.
- A highly ethical, professional, positive and collaborative approach to work.
- Proven experience delivering on strategic and business outcomes.
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or Management (or equivalent relevant experience).
- Willingness to set and comply with the values, code of conduct, policies and procedures and relevant legislation and standards applicable to Maranguka employees.
- A valid Working with Childrens Check and National Police Check
