Western Australian Department of Education has entered into an agreement with the Australian Government Department of Education, to develop and deliver the Scaling Up Success in Remote Schools Program. Through this program, the Regional Learning Initiative (RLI) is working to implement the successful elements of the Kimberley Schools Project into selected schools in the Goldfields and Midwest Education Regions. In 2026, the Program is being expanded into the Pilbara Education Region.
The project has two key components:
- Targeted teaching – evidence-based teaching strategies, quality materials and frequent measurement of achievement.
- Community engagement – development with the community of extended learning programs and related initiatives. Support includes coaching and advice for school leaders and teachers around building and sustaining positive school-community partnerships.

An understanding of the importance of data to drive practice and how to support teachers to analyse and unpack data sets would be advantageous.
The Program Coordinator – RLI will provide instructional coaching and as such the suitable applicant should have a high level of interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with teachers from diverse backgrounds and experience levels. As a member of the RLI team, you will be working with high performing colleagues in a positive and supportive environment.
