Hiring Multiple Candidates
A PO is a safety professional who ensures the protection of workers and the public on rail/tram infrastructure. This is achieved by managing and implementing safety procedures for rail worksites. At ARS, safety is a priority. We invest in our people through training, development, and real opportunities to progress in the rail industry.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting safety assessments
- Completing Briefs, Maps and ensuring all personnel understand their limits
- Developing and implementing safe work plans
- Applying protection methods to separate workers from rail traffic
- Communicating with network controllers to manage track authorities
- Wearing high-visibility PPE and working across varied environments and locations (day shifts, night shifts, weekends)

- Casual Role- With ARS, Pick and choose the days you want to work – Hours can vary from a single shift to a full week of work. We work with your availability, cater to days you need off, and ensure the workload is shared fairly amongst all. Some shifts may run for as little as 4 hours (with a minimum of 8 hours' pay), while others may extend up to 12 hours (with overtime benefits). It's important that employees are comfortable working on a casual basis, and we are happy to discuss your preferences to arrange a plan that best suits you.
Allowances include:
- Travel and phone allowance (each shift)
- Kilometer allowance for site travel
- Meal allowance (after 10-hour shifts)
- Away work benefits – Company car, LAHA allowance, and accommodation organized by ARS
About You:
We are looking for people who:
- Put safety first in everything they do
- Willing to undergo a Pre-Employment CAT 1 Medical
- Are committed, reliable, and willing to learn
- Strong attention to detail
- Can work flexible shifts (days, nights, weekends)
- Want to develop qualifications and skills in the rail industry
- Committed to completing online and face to face training for qualifications

- RIW Card (Rail Industry Worker Card)
- White Card
- Mobile Phone
- Drivers License and Reliable Vehicle
- SARC (Safely Access the Rail Corridor) Certificate
- Valid National CAT 1 Medical
- PPE: steel cap boots, Hi-Vis rail-approved gear, UHF radio, etc.
