Role Status: Full-time term vacancy until 2 November 2027
Remuneration: $58,709 – $63,154
Launch your finance career in a role that offers real variety, hands-on experience, and the chance to contribute to meaningful work supporting South Australia's children and young people and their families.
If you're a recent graduate or set to graduate soon with a tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, business, or a related field, this is your opportunity to get in early and secure your role before the busy graduate recruitment season begins.
Why join us?
As a Graduate Finance Officer with DCP, you'll gain:
- Rotational exposure across multiple finance functions, including accounts payable, receivable, insurance, compliance reviews, fringe benefits tax, and more.
- Practical skill-building in data analysis (Excel), compliance, investigations, and written/verbal communication.
- Professional development through tailored training, policy and procedure involvement, and opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Supportive mentoring from experienced finance professionals committed to helping you grow.
What you'll do:
You'll be part of a collaborative finance team, working across varied tasks that build your technical skills and broaden your understanding of financial operations in a government context. You'll learn to investigate and resolve issues, review transactions for compliance, contribute to high-quality reporting, and support business units with finance-related queries.
What we're looking for:
- A relevant tertiary qualification (or completion by mid-2026)
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- An eagerness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges
Apply now to start your finance career in a role that offers both breadth and depth of experience, and the chance to make a meaningful contribution to the work we do for South Australian families.
About the Business:
The Department for Child Protection (DCP) plays a key role in the protection of children, young people and their families within South Australia. The department provides support to vulnerable children and young people to be safe, strong and connected.
