Warehouse Officer

The Opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable and committed individual to join our team in a Warehouse Officer capacity.  This is a FIFO role requiring regular rotations to our lands in remote western deserts of WA.

As the Warehouse Officer you will be responsible for the hands-on coordination of inventory for the Council's public housing and major construction projects. This role supports the everyday functioning of the community, facilitating the timely repair and construction of housing and community facilities.

The Warehouse Officer will actively participate in stock control and engage with trade contractors as directed by Management on a need's basis.

In addition, you will assist in meeting the construction, emergency, cyclical repairs and maintenance jobs, to comply with Department of Communities (DoC) requirements and local housing policies and procedures.

About You:

To be considered for this role, you will possess the following:

·       Previous warehousing experience would be beneficial but is not required

·       Previous experience working in a remote area or community is beneficial, but not necessary

·       Valid C class driver's license

·       High Risk Forklift License

·       Senior First Aid

·       A certificate in Warehousing would be viewed favourably but is not a requirement

·       A strong desire to learn and grow

·       High level attention to detail and accuracy

·       Strong ability to prioritise and manage time effectively

·       Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and IOS

·       Prioritising tasks

·       Time management

·       High standard of accuracy

Home to approximately 2000 Yarnangu (Ngaanyatjarra people) across 11 unique communities, our council is dedicated to preserving and celebrating our rich heritage spanning over 10,000 years and 250,000 square kilometres.

Established in 1981, the Ngaanyatjarra Council Group (NCG) represents the interests of the Ngaanyatjarra People across the 11 communities in the Central Desert region of Western Australia.
