About the role

Based on site at Ironbark No.1, reporting to the Development Superintendent, your key responsibility as Mechanical Shift Supervisor (Development), is to lead the mechanical maintenance crew on the development panel where you will ensure reliability and compliance of development equipment, while supervising a crew of capable fitters. You' will lead from the front and work alongside other supervisors to support production and safety targets.

Key Responsibilities include

• Supervise mechanical trades personnel during development operations
• Coordinate and execute breakdown repairs, inspections, and planned maintenance
• Ensure that the mine priorities are complied with.
• Provides feedback as to the quality of the planned work and leadership to the shift trades.
• Drives a culture with the shift trades of identifying faults and correcting them before they become downtime.
• Manages and raises breakdown work orders, new corrective work orders and communicates work to process coordinators.
• Reallocates labour and equipment as required to maximise safety and production on shift.
• Reacts to and controls breakdowns and provides technical support to the Shift trades.
• Drive and initiate the process delay escalation procedure.
• Initiate contingency work when required.
• Debrief all trades before they finish shift.
• Brief the oncoming shift as to the state of the mine and progress of any ongoing tasks.
• Provide a comprehensive shift report of all Mechanical maintenance activities on shift.

About You

• Significant previous experience working in Underground Coal, Development operations with at least 2-5 years' experience in a supervisory capacity.
• Mechanical trade qualification
• Queensland Standard 11 – Surface and Underground certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Queensland Coal Board Medical (or willingness to obtain)
• Demonstrated leadership ability
• A proven track record of working safely.
• Commitment to the achievement of business goals and outcomes.
• High level reasoning ability and problem-solving skills
• Be able to effectively plan and priorities tasks
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• A team-oriented attitude.
