Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Agriculture Victoria, Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action Full time $90,000 - $120,000 per year

We are looking for an energetic team player to support Agriculture Policy and Programs to deliver several high priority climate change policy projects aimed at reducing emissions, leveraging industry action, and increasing national coordination in the agriculture sector.

The Policy Analyst will be responsible for policy analysis and research, supporting project management and the preparation of advice to executive management and Ministers with a specific focus on emissions policy and support for national coordination.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Policy experience and a sound knowledge of climate change policy and/or emissions management.
  • Strong analytical skills and policy experience in researching and developing policy recommendations on complex issues with a diverse range of stakeholders, often under tight timeframes.
  • Organisational and project management skills, and the interpersonal skills required to represent the department in forums and build relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Writing coordination, and project management skills.
  • Experience or knowledge of agricultural industries would be highly regarded.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • A relevant tertiary degree would be well regarded.

This is a fixed term position available for a period of 2 years. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
