Austal Australia is delivering multiple naval shipbuilding and sustainment programs for the Royal Australian Navy, Australian Border Force, and the Department of Defence, employing approximately 1,000 people in facilities in located Western Australia, Queensland, and the Northern Territory.

About the Opportunity

Austal and the Commonwealth of Australia are currently negotiating a landmark Strategic Shipbuilding Agreement (SSA) that will support the Continuous Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Enterprise and the delivery of multiple new defence force shipbuilding projects, such as Landing Craft-Medium and Landing Craft-Heavy for the Australian Army.

Once signed, the SSA will drive significant growth across our industry and workforce, as we deliver both existing and new programs under a long-term partnership. It will also enable the design and construction of vessels at our Henderson shipyard and marks a major step forward in establishing enduring shipbuilding capability within the Henderson Defence Precinct and across Western Australia.

To achieve this, we are building a highly skilled team, to engage with local industry and supply chains, and work on complex, large-scale projects that reflect Austal's proven capabilities and trusted performance.

Join our dynamic Capability Management and Business Services Team as a Business Architecture Document Controller, working closely with the Quality Manager to ensure excellence in document governance.

In this pivotal role, you'll be responsible for overseeing the management and control of documentation within our Business Architecture document management system. Your focus will be on maintaining accuracy, accessibility, and compliance with both internal procedures and industry standards.

What's Involved

• Daily support for the Quality Manager with business document management and control
• Manage document version and change controls
• Manage the business document review and approval process
• Ensure compliance and standardisation of documents
• Collaboration and stakeholder engagement
• System and process improvement

You'll Need

• Recognised qualification in document control or a minimum of 5 years experience in document control, records management or related field
• Strong knowledge of document management systems and software
• Proficiency in management of Microsoft Office Suite, in particular SharePoint
• Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 9001, contractual requirements and regulatory compliance
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
