A vacancy has opened with Lawson Port Logistics Pty Ltd in Tullamarine Head Office for a committed individual to join our Transport Operations Team as a Fleet Controller.

This position is a day shift role Monday to Friday. There will also be half day of Saturday work on a rotating rostering flowchart along with the other Fleet Controllers. It is a fantastic opportunity for anyone that would like to join a family team environment.

You will report to and liaise directly with the Operations Manager and Fleet Supervisor.

Qualifications & experience

  • Previous wharf experience beneficial but not required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Intermediate level of computer literacy and excel
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and time management skills
  • A dedicated person that encourages great culture
  • Loves working in a team environment for excellent outcomes

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Booking and maintaining time slots
  • Pre-planning and organisation of wharf and container park bookings
  • Proactively check and maintain cut offs and deadlines
  • Assisting, when required, with the scheduling / allocating of drivers and subcontractors to ensure productivity and operating efficiencies.
  • Drive performance of processes through effective and efficient planning.
  • Ensuring job details are conveyed to drivers precisely and efficiently.
  • Ensuring that all jobs are recorded and general data entry is processed correctly
  • Work with the supervisors in order to sustain and drive efficiencies and cohesion between all areas
