About the Role

Ord Minnett Private Capital was established to source, curate, assess and mange private market investment opportunities on behalf of Ord Minnett's Sophisticated and Professional private client investor network.

Established in 2020 Ord Minnett Private Capital currently manages five funds with committed capital of approximately $100m and is looking to expand this through the establishment of new opportunity specific funds and co-investment funds to its multi asset Private Opportunities Fund.

The Private Capital Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the Private Capital team in

  • Assessing, executing and managing portfolio investments;
  • Analysing data and preparing accurate and timely reports;
  • Composing, editing and distributing memos, reports and investment committee papers; and
  • Maintaining and updating pipeline and transaction calendars, schedules, files and documents.

Key Responsibilities

Participating with aspects of;

  • Pipeline management, including;

  • Facilitate communication with new investment prospects and engage with companies to evaluate investment eligibility according to our investment mandate;

  • Investment assessment, including;

  • Shortlist and prepare briefing materials on new investments, and collaborate with the team in analysing new opportunities and building investment thesis;

  • Building investment and company financial models:
  • Undertaking competitor analysis and preparing associated reports;
  • Absolute and relative valuation analysis;
  • Investment return profiling;
  • Undertaking due diligence; and
  • Preparing investment rationale and investment committee papers
  • Investment execution, including;

  • Information memorandum preparation;

  • Long form transaction documentation; and
  • Financial close;
  • Administration, including:

  • Assist the team with periodic compliance, fund administration and reporting processes, as well as periodic investor updates and reporting; and

  • Engaging with custodians and fund administrators;
  • Liaising with Private Wealth Advisers and investors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
  • Experience in funds management, equity capital markets, investment banking, corporate finance or transaction services
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information
  • clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other financial analysis software; familiarity with CRM tools is a plus.
  • Advanced excel and financial modelling skills
  • Understanding of financial statements
  • Post-graduate qualifications an advantage
