About the business and the role

Gulf Hydraulics Australia is a leader in the Hydraulics Industry for the service and repair of Hydraulic Pumps, Motors and Cylinders.

We are seeking a Trade Assistant for a full time position in Malaga. If successful apprenticeship is available.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform assembly and dismantling operations, such as screwing or bolting;
  • Read, interpret and follow drawings;
  • Operate all mobile plant and lifting equipment as and when requested (subject to licensing requirements);
  • Position and hold metal stock or products to enable work to be carried out;
  • Operate power presses or other cutting and shaping tools and machines;
  • Transport tools, materials and work pieces to and from sites or workbenches;
  • Hand tools to tradespersons and hold tools not immediately required;
  • Clean and prepare working surfaces;
  • Clean cylinders with a pressure washer on arrival.
  • Hard stamp cylinders with job numbers for traceability.
  • Use the forklift to move cylinder to wash bay in order to steam clean parts.
  • Take cylinders into the factory and strips the cylinders.
  • Once the cylinder is stripped, place smaller parts into the robowash for cleaning
  • Manage Work Health & Safety (WHS) and environmental hazards in the workplace and off site when required;
  • Conduct general workshop/yard cleanliness, tidiness and litter management; and
  • Other tasks as directed.
  • General Forklift operation.
  • Offload trucks with the forklift.
  • Deliveries to Customers/Suppliers as requested
  • Provide labour support as needed for speciality crew
  • Perform general maintenance
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Clean and prepare construction sites as required.
  • Load and unload construction supplies from trucks both manually and with the use of equipment.
