Position overview

The Research and Innovation Portfolio provides leadership and oversight of the University's research strategies to deliver high quality research outcomes and impact, including through commercialisation, and industry and business engagement. The Office of Research, Partnerships and Translation (RPT) is responsible for partnering with ANU researchers, professional staff and external stakeholders to help create impact and drive growth through commercial and end-user engagement.

We are currently seeking a collaborative professional to join our IP & Commercialisation team within RPT and help drive commercialisation development, intellectual property licensing and start-ups, across the STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics & Medicine) and HASS (Humanities, Arts & Social Sciences) disciplines.

Our Ideal Candidate

Successful applicants will work with academic and professional staff to help maximise the ability of the University to diversify external commercialisation opportunities, and build and develop industry, government and other end-user partnerships in support of RPT priorities and institutional targets. In particular, the Commercial Development Manager will partner with academic staff to market and transfer research outputs and University intellectual property to external partners to create impact. Experience and/or strong understanding of life sciences and supporting start up entities/new ventures is desirable.

To be effective in our team, you will be an exceptional communicator who can successfully build and nurture relationships with stakeholders from various industries and across the University. Your demonstrated experience with the development, implementation and management of commercial, project or partner pipelines will help drive the strategic objectives of the University and its Colleges.
