This hands-on role requires a reliable individual who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen and is a true morning person. Your primary focus will be on the daily preparation and quality control of our savoury menu items.

  • Schedule: This is a casual role with 15-21 hours with early morning starts required.
  • Location: King Street, Bowen Hills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sandwich and Savoury Production: Expertly and efficiently prepare all items for our daily offering, including assembling sourdough sandwiches, bagels and focaccias to precise standards.
  • Prep: Execute all necessary daily prep work (e.g., cutting, washing, cooking ingredients) to ensure a smooth service flow for both savoury and sweet teams.
  • Quality and Consistency: Maintain rigorous quantity and quality control across all ingredients and finished products to uphold Queen Amann's reputation.
  • Inventory and Cost Management: Assist the head chef with efficient ordering of ingredients and maintain accurate costings of items to manage kitchen budgets effectively.
  • Hygiene and Cleanliness: Ensure the kitchen and food prep areas are kept impeccably clean and organised throughout the shift, adhering strictly to all food safety standards.

  • Experience: Proven experience as a prep cook, chef, or similar role in a fast-paced café, bakery, or kitchen environment.
