Are you a motivated Year 10 student with an interest in business? We have School-Based Business Traineeship (SBAT) opportunity which allows you to complete Years 11 and 12, graduate with your HSC and a Certificate III in Business. Trainees may have the opportunity to work alongside teams such as Community Resilience and Partnerships or Communications and Marketing, gaining firsthand experience across a variety of roles throughout their traineeship.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Answering phone calls and directing enquiries
  • Greeting visitors and providing customer service
  • Drafting and formatting correspondence, emails, and reports
  • Filing, scanning, photocopying, and data entry
  • Maintaining and updating databases and records
  • Responding to community enquiries via phone, email, or in person
  • Providing information about council services and facilities
  • Assisting with records filing systems and registering/archiving documents
  • Helping ensure compliance with privacy and recordkeeping legislation
  • Scheduling meetings and taking/distributing meeting minutes
  • Maintaining office supplies and shadowing staff to understand council operations
  • Participating in training sessions and completing tasks aligned with traineeship requirements
  • Following workplace health and safety procedures
