Are you a motivated Year 12 leaver with an interest in business? We have multiple Business traineeship roles available starting in 2026, giving you the chance to explore different council teams, build valuable skills, and gain a nationally-recognised qualification. Trainees may have the opportunity to work alongside teams such as Community Resilience and Partnerships or Communications and Marketing, gaining firsthand experience across a variety of roles throughout their traineeship.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Answering phone calls and directing enquiries
  • Greeting visitors and providing customer service
  • Drafting and formatting correspondence, emails, and reports
  • Filing, scanning, photocopying, and data entry
  • Maintaining and updating databases and records
  • Responding to community enquiries via phone, email, or in person
  • Providing information about council services and facilities
  • Assisting with records filing systems and registering/archiving documents
  • Helping ensure compliance with privacy and recordkeeping legislation
  • Scheduling meetings and taking/distributing meeting minutes
  • Maintaining office supplies and shadowing staff to understand council operations
  • Participating in training sessions and completing tasks aligned with traineeship requirements
  • Following workplace health and safety procedures
