About the role

Gerard's in Fortitude Valley, QLD is looking for enthusiastic Chefs of all abilities to join our award-winning kitchen team. Whether you're just starting out in your culinary career or have years of experience under your apron, this is your chance to work in one of Brisbane's most respected dining destinations, alongside a passionate and supportive team.

Your role will include:

  • Preparing dishes to our high standards using fresh, seasonal produce.
  • Learning and applying a variety of techniques, including wood-fired and charcoal grilling.
  • Working with the team to refine existing recipes and create new, exciting dishes.
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient kitchen environment.
  • Upholding all food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Contributing to a positive, collaborative kitchen culture.

What we're looking for:

  • A genuine passion for cooking and a willingness to learn.
  • Great teamwork skills and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and pride in presentation.
  • Previous grill or wood-fired experience is a plus, but not essential.
  • Qualifications in Commercial Cookery are highly regarded, but not mandatory for entry-level positions.
