Durkin specialises in Pavement Technology (Investigations, Testing, and Design), and Sub-Surface Utility Information(SUISurveys).

Based in New South Wales, Durkin has provided investigation and engineering consultancy services throughout Australia. Currently we have a need for Technicians in our Utility Survey and Pavement Investigation Departments

What We Are Looking For

We are recruiting precise, innovative, driven people at all levels to work in our Pavement Testing and Utility Survey  divisions. We plan to expose all employees to to all areas of our business so we can jointly explore what particular role best suits them so they can specialise in one area whilst gaining broad skills/knowledge in others

Experience is not essential but will be well regarded, we are mainly interested in attitude and a desire to be the best you can be at work

Job Tasks

Some of the specific job tasks that you will be trained for and assigned to carry out depending on role will be:

1. Sub surface utility locating and mapping.
2. Surveying (Utilities, Engineering, Topographic, 3D Scanning etc.)
3. Reviewing and preparing utility plans
4. Concrete Imaging
5. CCTV Pipeline Investigations
6. Field compaction testing of earthworks and pavement layers.
7. Carrying out various construction material testing specifically with soils and pavement materials in our NATA accredited laboratory.
8. Driving plant to site and using heavy power tools. Using augers and core drills to sample road pavement materials on site.
9. Quality Assurance documentation, testing and sampling of pavement materials.

Other general field testing and laboratory testing duties will be assigned to you.

Desired Requirements depending on role

Previous experience with any of the job tasks will be highly regarded.

DBYD Locator accreditation will be an advantage

An EPA radiation user license will be held in high regard.

Experience working in a NATA Accredited Soil Testing Laboratory

A current NSW C-Class drivers licence is required. The ability to drive a manual vehicle is required.

An MR license will be held in high regard.

Working night shift and occasional weekend shifts will be required.

Full working rights in Australia are required.
