Role Description

As a Data Specialist, you will be responsible for collecting, managing, analyzing, and maintaining data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability across organizational systems. You will play a key role in transforming raw data into actionable insights that support business decisions and operational efficiency. This role requires a strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and technical proficiency in handling large datasets. You will collaborate with teams across departments to ensure data integrity, optimize data workflows, and contribute to the development of data-driven strategies. The ideal candidate is methodical, organized, and passionate about leveraging data to drive performance and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, validate, and maintain large datasets across multiple platforms and systems.
  • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency through regular audits and quality checks.
  • Analyze datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions.
  • Develop and maintain databases, dashboards, and reports for ongoing data monitoring.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver tailored data solutions.
  • Support data migration, integration, and transformation processes as needed.
  • Create documentation outlining data sources, definitions, and management procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data collection and processing workflows.
  • Adhere to data governance, compliance, and security standards.
  • Provide support for ad-hoc data requests and contribute to strategic projects involving data analytics.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets.
  • Proficiency in data management and analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, or R.
  • Experience working with databases and data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or Looker).
  • Detail-oriented approach with a strong commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
  • Understanding of data governance, privacy regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to process improvement.
  • Bachelor's degree in data science, information systems, statistics, computer science, or a related field preferred.
  • Familiarity with ETL processes, APIs, or cloud data environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is a plus.
