Tow Truck Operator – Queensland

The Ready Towing Group, established in 1961, is Queensland's leading and largest provider of emergency roadside assistance, specialist towing, and transport solutions. We proudly support a wide client base including State and Local Government, Law Enforcement, Insurance Providers, Automotive Clubs, and a range of commercial and private customers.

We are currently seeking Tow Truck Operators to join our professional team. These are permanent, full-time roles with all entitlements and conditions.

About the Role

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Performing daily pre-start safety and mechanical checks in line with NHVAS and company policy
  • Responding to breakdowns, accidents, and transport requests promptly and safely
  • Providing excellent customer service and support at the roadside
  • Safely loading, restraining, and transporting vehicles in accordance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations
  • Completing job paperwork or digital records accurately
  • Maintaining cleanliness and presentation of your assigned truck
  • Adhering to fatigue management regulations and company rostering systems

What You'll Need
  • A current and valid HR class driver's licence (Essential)
  • Only Australian citizens are eligible to apply for this position
  • Sound knowledge of safe driving practices and fatigue management under the HVNL
  • Basic mechanical understanding to complete pre-starts and report faults
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A customer-focused and safety-first attitude
  • Physically fit and capable of meeting the role's manual handling requirements
  • Flexibility to work a rotating roster including weekends and night shifts, with fair scheduling and entitlements
