Key Responsibilities
- Generate new business leads, follow up enquiries, and convert opportunities into successful outcomes.
- Conduct scheduled maintenance and testing of fire protection equipment, including fire extinguishers, hose reels, emergency lighting systems and egress.
- Perform detailed inspections and identify system deficiencies in line with Australian Standards.
- Provide technical advice and support to customers on the correct type, use and maintenance of fire equipment.
- Respond to emergency call-outs.
- Maintain accurate service records using our asset management system, Uptick (training provided).
- Ensure all work complies with relevant safety standards and regulations.
About the Role
We're looking for a motivated Service Technician to join our growing team. In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for maintaining, testing, and inspecting fire protection equipment to ensure safety and compliance across commercial and industrial premises.
What We're Looking For
- Certificate II in Fire Protection Inspection and Testing, or equivalent fire safety qualification, with willingness to obtain Certificate II.
- At least 2 years' experience servicing and maintaining buildings' essential safety provisions and fire safety equipment.
- Proven ability to generate leads and close sales.
- Strong technical understanding of fire safety equipment.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.
- Current driver's licence and willingness to travel to client sites.
- Current Australian driver's licence (minimum Class C) with a clean driving record.
- Ability to provide a current police clearance and Working With Children Check (required for access to specific sites).
- Knowledge of Australian Standards AS 1851, AS 2444, AS 2293 for fire equipment maintenance and exit & emergency light testing.
- Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid work visa with unrestricted work rights.
- Ability to use Uptick Software, advantageous but no essential.
