We require a Leading Hand Fabrication who supports the Foreperson in overseeing the efficient, safe and high-quality production of trailers and equipment. They coordinate the daily activities of the team, ensure adherence to safety and quality standards whilst driving operational success.

This position is/includes:

• Full-time permanent role.
• DIDO from Perth (3hrs from Perth)
• Working 9:5 Roster – 12-hour days.
• Immediate start.
• Fortnightly tool allowance.
• Accommodation and meals provided.

Key responsibilities for the role include:

• Lead the fabrication team with trailer fit outs.
• Provide support to tradespeople, trade assistants and apprentices.
• Guide the team to ensure deadlines are met.
• Promote a safe, clean and hazard free work environment, ensuring team members are complying with the safety standards set out from BRE.
• Prioritise work schedules to meet organisation product targets.
• Assist the Foreperson in mediating any concerns with jobs or staffing.
• Actively participate in production tasks as a primary responsibility, ensuring quality workmanship while leading by example in the use of tools and equipment.
• Assist in developing procedures and checklists. Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with BRE standards. Action quality issues with urgency and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor job schedules, part availability and workloads. Identify and address production risks, ensure tasks are completed on time and workflows are optimised for maximum output.
• Support daily operations through effective employee rostering, maintaining the skills matrix, and succession planning. Assume supervisory responsibilities during absences to ensure continuous operations.
• Provide regular updates to the Foreperson on production status, safety compliance, quality issues, team performance, timesheet and job booking accuracy for the team and any operational challenges. Report on progress and highlight issues or concerns.

About you:

• Minimum of 1-year Leading Hand experience required.
• Must possess an Australian recognised trade certificate.
• Good knowledge of heavy fabrication.
• Hold a current LF (forklift) license or willing and able to obtain one.
• Current HR License (Desirable).
