Mercedes / Fuso / Mack / UD/ Scania/ Kenworth

We are currently seeking A Vehicle Body Repairer and fabricator 1st or 2nd year apprentice based out of our Port of Brisbane workshop.

About the Apprenticeship

  • Earn while you learn in this four (4) year apprenticeship and obtain AUM30218: Certificate III in Automotive Manufacturing Technical Operations - Bus, Truck and Trailer
  • Work and learn from experienced Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanics in a friendly environment
  • Growth opportunities within the business
  • Full-time permanent
  • Hourly rate + overtime and allowances, some weekends may be required
  • Work with a safe and reliable fleet, serviced and maintained in our own workshops
  • Uniforms supplied and Laundered

Reporting to the Queensland Workshop Manager, Workshop Supervisor and working alongside other highly skilled and motivated Technicians. You will learn and acquire the skills to complete for the following:

  • Assist qualified tradespeople to and repair and modify Truck bodies and trailers
  • Accident repair and fleet refurbishment.
  • Preparing and welding medium and heavy steel sections
  • Identify, report and repair vehicle defects
  • Recondition and replace parts
  • Repair and maintain automotive and mechanical equipment
  • Comply with pre-determined maintenance schedules
  • Maintain a clean and tidy workspace at all times
  • Adhere to safe working practices at all times
  • MUST hold a valid Queensland Licence (Provisional or Open) and willing to obtain manual licence.
  • Forklift License not required but highly advantageous
  • Must have some proven hands-on automotive or mechanical experience including the use of related hand and power tools.
  • Commitment to a 4-year apprenticeship opportunity including TAFE
  • Computer literacy with the ability to record accurate maintenance information
