About the opportunity
Our Group Training team are on the lookout for a passionate Technical Trainer with broad expertise across residential construction and a strong commitment to delivering best-practice training.
Reporting to the Group Talent and Organisational Development Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the success of the McDonald Jones Homes and MOJO Homes construction teams. Your focus will be on facilitating onboarding, induction, and technical training for all MJH construction employees. More specifically, you will:
•Collaborating with construction managers, HR, and talent acquisition to ensure new starters are onboarded smoothly and set up for success
•Partnering with key stakeholders to design and deliver timely, relevant, and effective induction training
•Conducting skills gap analyses to identify critical development needs across construction and operations teams
•Facilitate the completion of structured inductions, including policy and procedure acknowledgements
•Delivering engaging, structured training using a blended approach—virtual, online, and in-person
•Overseeing participants in the MJH Construction Cadetship, Traineeship, and Graduate Programs
•Mentoring and coaching early-career construction talent to support career planning, boost retention, and enhance engagement and productivity
•Continuously identifying opportunities to improve our technical training programs and onboarding experience
About you
You will share a passion for our purpose and be aligned to our core values. In addition, you will demonstrate:
•Experience in a trades background e.g licensed builder, carpentry
•Experience delivering technical construction and safety training – highly desirable
•Cert IV in Training and Assessment – highly desirable
•Exceptional facilitation and presentation skills
•Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
•The ability to positively engage with people at all levels
•Technologically savvy, with strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and ability to quickly adapt to new platforms and tools.
•A strong commitment to safety, health & environment procedures
•A willingness to learn new technology and work with a diverse team
•Driver's license and willingness to travel across NSW with company car
