The Opportunity

As Head of Project Engineering, you'll be at the helm of ElectraNet's capital project engineering function—driving strategies, frameworks, and capabilities that underpin South Australia's clean energy future. This is not just a leadership role; it's a chance to influence the entire organisation and shape how we deliver complex, high-value projects.

You will:

  • Lead strategic direction for project engineering across major capital works, ensuring alignment with ElectraNet's governance, technical standards, and business objectives.
  • Champion engineering excellence by developing and continuously improving operational plans, policies, and frameworks that govern project delivery.
  • Drive performance and resilience through robust financial oversight, cost efficiency initiatives, and risk management strategies.

  • Engage stakeholders at every level, from executives to external partners, to ensure seamless delivery and strong relationships that support project success.
  • This role is ideal for a strategic thinker who thrives on complexity, embraces change, and has the technical depth to lead engineering functions in a high-stakes environment.
About You

You're a seasoned engineering leader with deep technical expertise and a strategic mindset. You combine mastery of project engineering principles with the ability to influence organisational direction and deliver complex infrastructure projects.

Here's what makes you stand out:

  • Proven engineering leadership with a minimum of 10 plus years in senior roles leading capital project engineering functions, with proven success in delivering large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Your strong technical expertise and knowledge of detailed design processes, governance frameworks, and compliance with technical standards.
  • Familiarity with engineering design tools and methodologies that ensure precision and efficiency.
  • Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office Suite, and MS Projects for planning, reporting, and resource management.
  • Driving operational excellence, where you've developed and implemented operational plans, policies, and performance metrics to optimise engineering delivery.
  • Proven ability to own and optimise multi-million-dollar capital budgets, ensuring every dollar drives measurable value. You anticipate financial risks, implement cost-efficiency strategies without compromising quality, and make data-driven engineering decisions that strengthen bottom-line performance and long-term resilience.
  • Experienced in leading organisational change, embedding high-performance behaviours, and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Exceptional ability to build strong relationships with internal teams, executives, and external partners, including Client Engineering Partners and contractors.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering with a flexible and solutions-focused approach to challenges.

If you thrive in complex environments, embrace innovation, and have the technical depth to lead ElectraNet's engineering transformation, we'd love to hear from you
